Electronics Design and Maintenance
The Electronics Design and Maintenance Shop (EDM) is a dynamic, multi-faceted technical support center with the expertise to repair and maintain electronic or electromechanical equipment ranging from pH meters and tabletop centrifuges to autoclaves, personal computers, and mass spectrometers. The shop also has an Electronics Design Section capable of designing and fabricating high quality electronic equipment to support the rigorous demands of myriad research projects. To further broaden its support capability, the shop has a Network Cabling Team that can install network cabling spines and individual workstation links throughout campus buildings to allow access to the University Computer Network. Additionally, the Electronics shop boasts a nearly 7,000 item inventory of electronics components from computer monitors, ethernet cards, and hard drives to a library of discrete components.
The shop can service equipment in-house or dispatch service engineers or technicians to perform on-site repairs. Generally, our ability to repair equipment is limited only by cost-effectiveness and the availability of technical data.
