Complex Carbohydrate Research Center

The CCRC, under the direction of Professors Peter Albersheim and Alan Darvill, encompasses ten interdisciplinary research groups that make up one of the few facilities in the world capable of delineating and modifying the structures of the carbohydrate portions of glycoproteins, glycolipids, and other complex carbohydrates. The CCRC has nine faculty, two directors, and six adjunct faculty. Graduate students from Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, and Botany work under the direction of CCRC faculty. Federal support for this unique facility comes from the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the U.S. Department of Energy.
