Abstract

A review with more than 34 refs. The distribution of structurally characterized terminal chalcogenido complexes as a function of both the chalcogen and transition metal has been surveyed with the aid of the Cambridge Structural Database. The majority of these complexes are concd. along the vanadium-molybdenum-rhenium diagonal with oxo derivs. being the most prevalent. Terminal chalcogenido derivs. of the early and late transition metals, and terminal tellurido complexes of all the transition metals, are particularly rare. Trends in the variation of metal-chalcogenido bond lengths are also described. [on SciFinder(R)]
