Abstract
We have examd. the properties of a neutral terminal carbido complex readily available from a catalyst useful for olefin metathesis. To this point, terminal carbido compds. have received relatively little attention in the literature. One characteristic of these compds. is their ability to function as σ-donor ligands. For example, the reaction of (PCy3)2Cl2RuC with PdCl2(SMe)2 provides the μ-carbido product (PCy3)2Cl2RuC-PdCl2(SMe). All three compds. have been crystallog. characterized. [on SciFinder(R)]
