Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) SpectroscopyThe EPR facility is located in new wing of the Chemistry Building and is under the direction of Professor Michael Johnson. The facility is equipped with a Bruker ESP 300E EPR spectrometer that can be used for X-band, S-band and Q-band measurements. Variable temperature cryostats (2-300K) are available for all frequencies, making the instrument suitable for the study of organic radicals and paramagnetic transition metal centers. This facility is also equipped with a Quantum Design SQUID Susceptometer for detailed magnetic measurements on magnetically dilute samples at temperatures between 1.5 and 350 K. |
