Graduate Application Information

To be admitted to graduate study in chemistry at the University of Georgia, a student must have earned a bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry or a closely related field and should have a distinguished undergraduate record. Applications are accepted throughout the calendar year, however, the Department assumes that all new graduate students will start their studies beginning in the fall semester each August. The Chemistry Department has a deadline of January 31 for receipt of all application materials (including test scores, official transcripts and letters of recommendation) for regular fall admission to the graduate program. Some special fellowship opportunities such as UGA Graduate School Assistantships and Presidential Fellowships require an application deadline of January 1. All applicants will automatically be considered for these special fellowships upon receipt of a completed application. Therefore, we suggest that the prospective student arrange for his or her application materials to arrive as early as possible. Please contact the Chemistry Graduate Program for additional information about these special fellowship opportunities. Applications received after the January 31 deadline may still receive consideration depending upon space and funding availability.
