Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) Spectroscopy

The EPR facility is located in new wing of the Chemistry Building and is under the direction of Professor Michael Johnson. The facility is equipped with a Bruker ESP 300E EPR spectrometer that can be used for X-band, S-band and Q-band measurements. Variable temperature cryostats (2-300K) are available for all frequencies, making the instrument suitable for the study of organic radicals and paramagnetic transition metal centers. This facility is also equipped with a Quantum Design SQUID Susceptometer for detailed magnetic measurements on magnetically dilute samples at temperatures between 1.5 and 350 K.
